IRELAND SEALED AN impressive International Rules Series success in Brisbane this morning.

Running out convincing 21-point winners on the Gold Coast, Anthony Tohill’s men return home with a record aggregate margin of victory.

But the Derryman admitted to reporters afterwards that he was just happy he’ll fill the plane with fit bodies.

“It’s a very, very fine line. For a while tonight I thought it was going to boil over,” Tohill said of the niggly atmosphere throughout the second Test.

“I must say I’m relieved to get all my players off that pitch with no injuries. There was a time there tonight I was concerned with where that game was going. I’m just glad that it settled down and that we got the game finished with no injuries.”

And with the future of the Series the subject of much chatter this week both in Australia and here, Tohill admitted a sporting encounter was important.

“We welcome the physical side of the game. We don’t get it in our own game, so we welcome it here, but it has to be within the rules,” he said.

It’s Ireland’s first series win since 2008 when it claimed the two Tests in Perth and Melbourne.
