IRELAND’S PATRICK HYLAND continued his unbeaten run last night, as he defeated Frankie Archuleta at Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, New York.
The fight was stopped by the referee in the fourth round, after Hyland registered the 12th knockout of his career.
The Irishman was in the ascendancy throughout the fight, also knocking his opponent down in the first and third rounds.
Speaking following his victory, Hyland said:
“It was a good fight but I could have done a little better. He’s a tough guy who hit me with a couple of good shots. I got him with some good shots in the fourth when it was stopped… I’m ready for anybody at 126 pounds.”
The result means Hyland has still yet to be defeated in 26 professional bouts.
This is turning into a bit of a farce now. I don’t think it is a good use of cabinet meeting time.
Rename the stadium Supervalu Pair UiCaoimh, problem solved. Now where is my minsterial pension.
@Joe O’Regan: mehole will sort ya
@Joe O’Regan: Well said. The Sportsground in Galway is also to be renamed Dexcom Park. There’s not a word about that and rightly so.
@Richard Ford: other than the article 3 below this one Rich is it?!
@Joe Kennedy: Through the chair a point of clarification Joe. There’s no controversy about the renaming of the Sportsground.
@Richard Ford: haha…..not yet anyway! Completely different situation in fairness though, given that the Sportsground isn’t currently named after any important historical rugby figure.
Supervalu Pairc UiCaoimh even.
