Soccer AM host and celebrity golf enthusiast Rushden, who was a regular stand-in during Richardson’s time off, took over the presenter’s chair on Thursday where he was joined by pod regulars Barry Glendenning, Gregg Bakowski and Jonathan Wilson.
With news of Neymar’s imminent move to Paris Saint-Germain at the top of the agenda, Rushden and co took the opportunity to send their departing colleague on his way with one last gentle dig.
“We have to start with this question, gentlemen,” Rushden asked. “Why would someone at the most prestigious team in the world, loved by their fans, revered by their team-mates, on big money have their head turned by an inferior less-established team right before the start of the season?”
