Hockey goalkeeper takes shot to the groin from the NHL's hardest hitter... may never get up

Poor Kari Lehtonen.

DURING THE MOST recent NHL All-Star game, Nashville Predators player Shea Weber won the hardest shot contest for the second successive year with a shot peaking at 108.1 mph (174 kph).

That’s less than one kph off the all time record so the guy can slap a puck really, really, hard.

So spare a thought for Dallas Stars goaltender Kari Lehtonen who was only in last night’s game because starting keeper Antti Niemi was pulled form the game having allowed four goals from just 18 shots.

Then this happened:

And he didn’t get up for a long time.

Wasn’t Antti Niemi Southampton’s goalie in the early 00′s?

Glad Niemi was pulled. Have him in fantasy, although he ain’t playing well this season. Probably should drop him anyway.
