WITH NEXT TUESDAY marking 25 years since 96 people lost their lives in the Hillsborough stadium disaster, the world of football has been honouring those who passed away on 15 April 1989 in various ways.
Organised by the YNWA Irish Reds supporters’ club, the event began at 3.07pm at the Papal Cross, with a couple of thousand people showing up before 96 red balloons we released and a minute’s silence was held.

96 seats were left empty at Hillsborough and Wembley this afternoon, while Irish Liverpool fans paid their respects by taking part in a 96-minute walk in Phoenix Park.
