Here’s the cast of TheScore.ie’s very own nativity play

Get out your bed-sheets, coat hangers and tinsel. It’s showtime!

As Gabriel… Gary Neville

The new pundit on the block is finally bringing forth a prophecy we can all buy into.

As Joseph… Rory Gallagher

Just like Joseph, he has a much more flamboyant namesake  in history. But our man has put aside the amazing technicolour dream-coat and quietly goes about his business while others get the credit.

As Mary… LoLo Jones.

Who else could play the glowing virgin queen other than our favourite US hurdler/bobsledder,

As Donkey… Now, don’t take offence Brendan.

Stephen Pond/EMPICS Sport

We needed someone strong, reliable. Somebody who might not necessarily provide the quickest changes in the world, but a man who can clearly bear the world’s burden on his shoulders and (eventually) deliver the goods.

Brendan Rodgers will bring us to Bethlehem.

Three wise men… The Three Wise Men

No, no no! Stop it there. There were simply no other possible contenders for this pivotal role other than Dunpho, Chippy and John.

Shepherd with lambs… Arsene Wenger and his meek, meek Arsenal team.

They can come in, sit in the stable adding to the general warm feeling. But they won’t influence anything.

The innkeeper… Declan Kidney.

No room in(n) the squad for Paul Marshall, Ian Madigan or Mike Sherry.

A chorus of angels?

The Star… (Super) Mario Balotelli.

Eamonn and James Clarke/Eamonn and James Clarke/EMPICS Entertainment

This is who we should all be following. Also, he’s been know to light up the sky – or at least his bathroom – from time to time.

Along the saviour…. Craig ‘baby Jesus’ Gilroy

Try as we might, it’s impossible to find a photo of the winger not bathed in a heavenly light.

McAteer never fails to have a go at Kerr any chance he gets. Strange after so many years. He made his disrespect for Kerr’s suitability for the job clear in his book. Maybe that’s the way he acted towards Kerr from day 1.

Hopefully there is just as big a turnout for this as there was for the Liam Miller tribute. Sean didn’t play Premier League football so won’t have earned the millions that footballers do. He also needs on going care. All in all the Cox family which be much more in need of the money than the Miller family.
