IRELAND’S HAT TRICK hero Craig Gilroy was in jubilant form after playing a big part in the 53-0 win over Fiji on Saturday.
The Ulster winger opened the try scoring in the tenth minute and went on to grab two more, his third a sensational break from deep inside his own half in the 72nd minute.
Next on Gilroy’s to-do list is a cap for Declan Kidney’s men, as the Thomond Park encounter was not recognised as a full international.
“There was no cap but I was obviously delighted to get out there in the green jersey and I loved every minute of it,” said the 21-year-old.

“The Ulster lads did well but I thought the team, as a whole, were great. We’ve only been together a short while but we’ve gelled really quickly and I think that showed tonight.
“Any chance I get to put on the jersey and play for my country is a big step for me.
“It is something that I have worked towards really hard and I’m glad I took my opportunity tonight. Who knows, I’m just going to enjoy tonight and see what happens.”
