QPR boss Harry Redknapp hasn't made an enquiry about 'amazing footballer' Robbie Keane

The Irish attacker has been linked with a return move to the Premier League.

QPR BOSS HARRY REDKNAPP has described Robbie Keane as ‘an amazing footballer’ but insists he’s made no approach for the LA Galaxy striker.

Keane recently hinted that he may leave the MLS franchise, saying he would take some time off to consider his next move. Rumours have since swirled suggesting the 34 year-old could be returning to England, with a loan move to QPR being mooted.

Redknapp failed to rule out a possible deal for a player he knows well – the pair having worked together at Tottenham Hotspur. But, he feels that the Galaxy will stand their ground, even if QPR register an interest.

No [there has been no approach] for Robbie. He’s an amazing footballer. I’ve never made any enquiry for Robbie, he belongs to the LA Galaxy, they aren’t going to let him go.”

Keane won his 3rd MLS Cup with the Galaxy last weekend, scoring the winning goal in the decider against New England Revolution while he was also crowned the league’s MVP too after a superb campaign in which he scored 19 goals and assisted 14 more.

Redknapp heaped praise on Keane for the way in which he’s performed consistently since arriving in North America, in contrast to some other high-profile players.

“He’s a fantastic player, one of the best professionals I’ve ever come across. “You only have to look at what he’s done in America. He hasn’t gone there for a holiday, he’s gone there and become the best player in the league.”
