Harry Kane will start for England against Italy tonight

Spurs’ attacker impressed on his debut against Lithuania on Friday.

AFTER HIS DEBUT goal for England in Friday’s 4-0 demolition of Lithuania, Tottenham striker Harry Kane will be handed his first start for Roy Hodgson’s side in tonight’s friendly with Italy in Turin.

The 21 year-old was named on the bench for the Euro 2016 qualifier against the minnows but made an instant impact when introduced.

Having replaced Wayne Rooney with less than 20 minutes left, it took Kane just 79 seconds to find the net, neatly nodding to the net after Raheem Sterling stood up a cross to the far post.

Now, the striker, who has racked up 29 goals for his club this season, will get his opportunity to shine from the start with Hodgson revealing Kane will start against the Azzurri.

“Harry deserves his chance,”, Hodgson said.

This is a chance for some of the squad players to show they are good enough. It’ll be nice to see Kane and Rooney playing together from the start.”

Meanwhile, Italian manager Antonio Conte has already named his starting XI for the clash. It’s an experimental team with only Giorgio Chiellini having faced England in the World Cup group-stage clash in Brazil last summer.

Still, there are a handful of relatively well-known names included like Gianluigi Buffon, Andrea Ranocchia, Leonardo Bonucci and Southampton’s misfiring striker Graziano Pelle.
