Outrageous 20-yard overhead goal sets Champions League alight

If that is not enough for you, Haris Seferovic banjoed in a cracker from 30 yards out.

THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE group stages got closer for some sides on Tuesday yet are now a distant dot for other teams that failed to fire.

Real Sociedad’s Antoine Griezmann returned to his home country of France to deliver a dagger thrust to Lyon as they lost 2-0. The forward scored a spectacular overhead volley to put his team 1-0 up. The cross for the goal came from former Arsenal player Carlos Vela:

What makes matters worse/better is the Frenchman’s footballing allegiance. Before the match, he told the UEFA website, “For me, Lyon has been my club since I was a kid. I used to come to see all the Champions League matches here with my father.”

The Spaniards, doubled their advantage in the second-half when Griezmann’s teammate Haris Seferovic battered in a 30-yard effort. Sociedad are in the box-seat ahead of the return try against the Ligue 1 side. Check out the second belter here:
