'Hamilton will kill someone' - driver under-fire after dramatic Canadian GP

Former world champions Niki Lauda says the sport’s chiefs need to make an example of Hamilton.

LEWIS HAMILTON HAS been warned that he’ll be responsible for a fatal Formula One crash if he continues to drive as he does.

Three-time world champion Niki Lauda says the British driver’s style is too dangerous. Hamilton yesterday crashed out of the Canadian Grand Prix after just eight laps.

Hamilton collided with team-mate Jenson Button, who went on to seal a dramatic victory.

Lauda called on the governing body to set an example. “What Hamilton did there goes beyond all boundaries. He is completely mad. If the FIA does not punish him, I do not understand the world any more. At some point there has to be an end to all the jokes.

“You cannot drive like this — as it will result in someone getting killed.”

The Austrian made the comments during his commentary on the German station RTL.
