LEWIS HAMILTON AND Nico Rosberg have one of the most intense rivalries in sport right now — all the more remarkable when you remember that the two are, nominally at least, team-mates at Mercedes.
This afternoon brought us the latest dramatic twist in the saga as the two collided within seconds of the Spanish Grand Prix starting and crashed out of the race.
It opened the door for 18-year-old Max Verstappen who took the chequered flag in his Red Bull car and became the youngest-ever winner of an F1 Grand Prix.

World champion Hamilton held pole position in Barcelona but was beaten to the first turn by Rosberg who leads the drivers’ championship by 43 points.
And when Hamilton tried to sneak up Rosberg’s inside, he was forced wide onto the grass verge and spun, clipping Rosberg and forcing both cars out.

Mercedes chairman Niki Lauda pointed the finger of blame at Hamilton.
“Lewis was too aggressive,” he said. “For both to be out after two corners is completely unacceptable.”
But director Toto Wolff said the incident was not clear cut.
“They are both pretty upset,” he told Sky Sports. “Of course they have their perspective, we need to talk to them again, look at the pictures, look at the data and then avoid this in the future.”
