HAMILTON ACADEMICAL WILL pay tribute to the victims of last weekโ€™s terror attacks in Paris today by wearing a one-off jersey.

The French-themed shirt, which features the flag of France and the emblem of the French Football Federation, will be worn by the Scottish Premier League side for their home game against Aberdeen.

The club has links to France via assistant manager Guillaume Beuzelin and striker Christian Nadรฉ, whose sister was reportedly trapped in โ€จa restaurant beside one of the establishments where gunmen opened fire on innocent diners in the French capital. Nadรฉ is on the bench for todayโ€™s game.

Hamilton received permission to wear the special shirts from the SPFL and the club says that the 20 jerseys โ€” which wonโ€™t go on general sale for supporters โ€” will then be sent to clubs in Franceโ€™s Ligue 1 for auction in aid of their chosen charities.

Sorry, but where do we draw a line for who we mourn for?

Thereโ€™s no denying what happened was a truly awful and barbaric event and Iโ€™m thankful nothing like this has happened here.
But to hold a moments of silences so late after is a bit off as is the fact that another atrocity has occurred in Mali in the interim, and therefore purely dilutes the purpose of what these minutes of silences are about.
I also believe that the clubs decision to make public their tribute in advance also seems like good PR as opposed to genuine sadness. It would have been far more classy and genuine if fans turned up today and then it was announced at kick off.
    Just my opinion.
