Guardiola decision on Barcelona future expected 'in a couple of weeks'

Vice president Javier Faus says a decision from the multi-trophy winning coach is imminent.

NOU CAMP CHIEFS expect Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola to decide on his future โ€œin a couple of weeksโ€.

Vice president Javier Faus says a decision from the multi-trophy winning coach is imminent.

The Barca boss has always been coy on his long-term plans, insisting heโ€™d like to manage in England and elsewhere. But while his current deal expires this summer, the former club captain is expected to remain in Catalunia.

โ€œWe want Pep to stay here for many years. We will know his decision in a couple of weeks, we hope his response will be positive,โ€ Faus told the clubโ€™s official website.

Barcelona face Real Madrid at home tomorrow in the second leg of the Copa del Rey quarter-final, leading 2-1 from last weekโ€™s meeting at the Bernabeu.

How could you not renew a contract there? Heโ€™s only a young guy and even if he wants to manage elsewhere at some stage you canโ€™t walk away from Xavi, Iniesta and Messi in their prime. Heโ€™ll be there for a bit longer me thinks.
