Golf returns to the BBC with deal to show this year's US PGA - reports

BBC HAVE WON the rights to show the US PGA in a deal that will be seen as a big blow for Sky, according to reports.

Talks with the satellite broadcaster broke down recently.

The US PGA revealed they were exploring ‘multi-platform options’ with speculation that companies like Twitter and Facebook may bid for the tournament.

But a deal to show at least a portion of the action on linear television was always likely — with tournament chiefs keen to reach as wide an audience as possible — and an agreement with the BBC may well be announced by the end of the week, according to the Guardian.

The Telegraph report that a multi-year deal is likely to be revealed, in what will be heralded as a major coup.
