A FENERBAHCE DEFENDER was knocked out cold by this sickening collision in last night’s Europa League semi-finals.
Gokhan Gonul was kicked in the head as he cleared a Benfica attack during the second half at the Estadio da Luz.
Gonul won the ball ahead of Nicolas Gaitan but was left unconscious and bloodied when he was caught by the striker’s swinging boot.
To make matters worse, Fenerbahce crashed out of the competition 5-2 on aggregate as Benfica set up a final date against Chelsea.
