“I don’t give him too much information offensively. Somebody like Hatem, you have got to let them have their world – it’s his world when he has the ball.”
Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew unveiled the secret behind getting the best out of a player like Hatem Ben Arfa after the Frenchman scored an absolute gem against Bolton yesterday. Give him the ball and let him do his thing.

What are your thoughts? Have we missed any?
Not a bad coach by any means. Probably gave Dortmund their best chance of winning a league in the pre-Klopp era. Has his downsides but the positives outweigh the negatives for me. Not the most entertaining brand of football but usually effective enough. Thought he would’ve gone back to take the reigns at Gladbach again but looks like Farke beat him to it, whom I’m very happy for after battling away courageously at Norwich for a fair few seasons.
