Goin' nowhere: Messi laughs off the idea that he might ever leave Barca

Put your wallet away, Roberto. Leo’s head is not for turning.

LIONEL MESSI BELIEVES the current Barcelona side are the best in history and says he intends to finish his career with the Catalan giants.

The Argentina international has won three successive Ballon d’Or awards, becoming the talisman for the European champions during a period of sustained success.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Messi revealed that he has no plans to leave Camp Nou.

“My idea has been to always stay in Barcelona and see out my career here,” Messi said.

I wasn’t old enough to see the great teams from history we are compared with, but from what I have seen I think Barcelona is the best.

Messi went on to praise current coach Pep Guardiola, who he feels has improved him as a player.

“Since Guardiola’s arrival, he has made the team play this way. He made me play closer to the goal for me to score more goals, which until his arrival I hadn’t done.”

“Everything he does he shows he is the best coach in the world.”

Barcelona play at Sevilla in La Liga this evening.
