Open thread: After last night's win, should Giovanni Trapattoni be given more time?

Two out of three ain’t bad but is the Trap era over for Ireland?

GIOVANNI TRAPATTONI IS this morning back in Italy after a long week-and-a-half away from home.

The Ireland coach saw his side hammered 6-1 at home to Germany last Friday night in a crucial World Cup qualifier at the Aviva Stadium.

And in the days before last night’s win over the Faroe Islands, the manager was forced to defend his position and fight for his reputation.

Yesterday speculation mounted that the Italian would be relieved of his duties, whatever the outcome in Toshavn. After the game Liam Brady insisted Trap should be allowed to finish the job he started while the likes of Brian Kerr and Eamon Dunphy insist the Trapattoni era is over for the FAI.

So what do you think? Should he stay or should he go?
