GERARD PIQUE IS taking full advantage of his summer break — by playing in the World Series of Poker.
The Barcelona defender was in Brazil last month as Spain finished runners-up in the Confederations Cup.
Before he gets back to pre-season training at the Camp Nou, Pique stopped off in Las Vegas to play a few hands in this year’s WSOP Main Event.
It costs $10,000 just to sit down at the table but that’s no bother to a man who earns a reported £100,000 a week.
Pique is no joker either. He held his own on day one and finished with a chip count of 19,400.
Marc MacDonnell is the best of the Irish after two days in the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino. MacDonnell finished with over 230,000 chips in 29th place.
