'Not concussed' George North stood down by Wales for Scotland clash

Move along, nothing to see here.

WALES HAVE NAMED Liam Williams on the left wing for Sunday’s Six Nations trip to Scotland with George North left out of the squad.

Wales insist that North has shown no symptoms of concussion since the Northampton man was visibly knocked unconscious during the opening day defeat to England in Cardiff.

However, due to a concussion suffered in November, the Welsh backroom team say they are giving the 22-year-old an extended period to recovery for the meeting with France on February 28.

“We have taken the decision to give George an extended recovery period ahead of the game against France,” Warren Gatland said today.

Prop Samson Lee did suffer a confirmed concussion, but has been included in the starting line-up subject to him passing the final stage of return to play protocols.
