WALES WINGER GEORGE North may yet be fit for his country’s Six Nations defence next month.
The 20-year-old was stretchered off with a neck injury during Llanelli Scarlets heavy 47-17 defeat to Ulster at Ravenhill last night.

With the game stopped for six minutes while North was treated and little concrete for the club to report, concern had been growing for the Lions prospect’s chances of adding to his 26 caps this season.
In a statement seen by WalesOnline.co.uk this afternoon, however, Scarlets have indicated the the injury is much less serious than first feared.
“(North) was taken to hospital after the incident where as a precaution his neck was both x-rayed and scanned. The results from the two scans showed that there was no significant or serious damage to his neck.
“George travelled home with the rest of his Scarlets team-mates this morning on a flight from Belfast.”
The British and irish Lions Twitter account also reported the only issue as being ‘a stiff neck and headache’. Yet, the province were keen to add that a full assessment will have to be made on Monday before they can pencil in a return date
“It is too early to assess the full extent of the injury or indeed the recovery period at this stage.”
Ulster centre Paddy Wallace was on the field at the time North sustained the injury and the wing’s response to him was an early signal that there was little cause for concern.
