George Boyd denied spitting at Joe Hart - but the FA has banned him anyway

Boyd’s spitting charge was upheld at an independent hearing today.

GEORGE BOYD HAS been banned for three matches by the Football Association for spitting at Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart.

The Hull City winger denied the charge which followed Saturday’s Premier League match at the KC Stadium.

Boyd’s clash with Hart was not seen by the match officials but it was caught on video and was found proven at an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing on Thursday.

Boyd, 28, will miss the games against West Brom, West  Ham and Stoke.
