GALWAY HAVE BROUGHT an end to Leitrim’s 11 game unbeaten run in the Connacht FBD League after inflicting a first defeat on the Ridge County in the competition since 2012 this afternoon.
The one point win puts the Tribesmen into the final with Shane Walsh (0-4) one of seven different scorers for Galway in their 0-13 to 1-9 win in Mohill, Alan McLoughlin raising the green flag for the home team.

Their opponent in the final is likely to be Mayo after their 0-15 to 0-6 point win over IT Sligo in Ballina. A point next time out against Roscommon next Sunday will be enough to see Mayo into the decider.
Earlier today Gavin Duffy was a late withdrawal from the Mayo team having initially been set for his first senior start for the county.
Duffy had been named to partner Barry Moran in the middle for the game in his home town of Ballina.
It would have been the former Irish rugby international’s first start for the Mayo senior side in a competitive game since joining the squad last summer after his rugby career with Connacht drew to a close.
But instead Duffy was a late withdrawal with Alex Corduff coming in to replace him.
One late change to the Mayo starting team and unfortunately Gavin Duffy will not be togging today and replaced by Alex Corduff #mayogaa
