IT SEEMS THE tide is turning for Valencia boss Gary Neville as his side gave him the perfect birthday gift tonight.

After claiming his first La Liga win against Espanyol on Saturday, Neville’s side crushed Austria’s Rapid Vienna 6-0 in their Europa League last-32 clash.

On a day when the former Manchester United defender celebrated his 41st birthday, goals from Santi Mina (2), Daniel Parejo, Alvaro Nedgredo and Andre Gomes put the Spanish club five goals to the good after just 35 minutes.

The goals dried up thereafter until substitute Rodrigo completed the rout in the 89th minute.

Mina got the scoring under way with four minutes on the clock and the Spanish side never looked back.

It’s Neville’s first game in charge since appointing Pako Ayestaran, who was Rafael Benitez’s number two at Valencia and Liverpool, as his assistant.
