Real Madrid chief hopeful on Gareth Bale deal despite 'problems'

While the Welsh attacker is holding out for move to Spain, Brazilian star Kaka is eager to move on.

REAL MADRID VICE PRESIDENT Fernando Fernandez Tapias has admitted the clubโ€™s pursuit of Gareth Bale has encountered โ€œproblemsโ€.

The Welshman has been linked with a world-record switch from Tottenham to the Spanish capital for long periods of the transfer window but, with just four days remaining, a move has yet to materialise. Following Realโ€™s 4-0 friendly victory over Deportivo La Coruna today, Fernandez Tapias confessed that issues have arisen, though he still expects a deal to be completed.

โ€œThere are problems, but I think it will all be straightened out. We thought heโ€™d be here, but he hasnโ€™t even flown to Madrid yet, although it could still happenโ€, he said.

โ€œI think it will happen, but I couldnโ€™t swear to it completely. We have to wait, because Spurs are stalling.โ€

The Spaniard went on to claim that the Santiago Bernabeu outfit, who have won their first two league fixtures of the new campaign, boast a strong squad even without the addition of Bale. โ€œI have no doubt of Baleโ€™s ability, but without Bale, Real is still a force to be reckoned with โ€“ we have an amazing team,โ€ he added.

Bale, who scored 26 goals in 44 appearances for Tottenham last term, is reportedly valued at โ‚ฌ100million by the Premier League club.

One player who may be seeking a Real exit, with the Premier League a likely destination, is Brazilian forward Kaka admitting to Spanish newspaper AS that he wanted to leave the club.

    Scrum holds up we win.
It will depend on how the penalties at scrum time go.
