TOTTENHAM MANAGER Gareth Bale has moved on from his rift with Liverpool’s Charlie Adam, preferring to focus on the new season.
Bale dubbed Adam a ‘coward’ after he was injured in a tackle from the Scottish midfielder in a pre-season friendly against Liverpool in Baltimore on Saturday.

The pair have history — Adam sidelined Bale for three months when he was playing at Blackpool with a bad tackle in 2011 — but when quizzed about the incident yesterday, the Spurs speedster declined to make further inflammatory comments.
“People like that are not worth commenting on, to be honest,” Bale told Sky Sports News. ”He knows what he’s done wrong himself, so we’ll just leave it.”
The Welshman described his off-season as a ‘bit of a rollercoaster’ after a back injury made him unavailable to represent Great Britain at the 2012 London Olympics.
“There’s been a lot of stuff said in the media but I don’t pay too much attention to that,” he said. ”I just want to concentrate on my fitness, that’s the important thing for me, to just be fit for the start of the season.”
Despite Bale’s negative reaction to Adam’s challenge, he was able to play in a friendly just three days later against New York Red Bulls, which Spurs won 2-1. Bale admitted he had taken a slight risk by appearing in the match but played for the sake of fitness, with the start of the Premier League season just over a fortnight away.
“I know there aren’t many games left in pre-season so it’s important for me to get some minutes on the pitch,” he said. ”I was a bit concerned going out before the game but I wanted to get my fitness up quicker and get ready for the Premier League season.”
