John Gardiner dropped from Cork panel

Meanwhile, the side look set to be without Pa Cronin for next year’s Munster semi-final.

JOHN GARDINER WILL not be on the Cork hurling panel next year, after the management informed the player of their decision to drop him earlier this week, according to reports.

The former All-Star was only on the fringes of the side this year, and he has not been included in the 2013 provisional panel, despite making himself available for selection.

It has also been announced that the side are likely to be without Pa Cronin for next year’s Munster semi-final against either Waterford or Clare, following an incident involving the player in Cork’s All-Ireland semi-final loss against Galway earlier this year, which wasn’t spotted by the match officials at the time.

It is unclear yet as to whether Cronin will appeal the decision.
