The Gardaí just shared a sensational aerial shot of the All-Ireland final just before throw-in

What a scene.

YESTERDAY’S ALL-IRELAND Final between Dublin and Mayo had it all.

A last-gasp winner, red card drama and Diarmuid Connolly’s vest.

Seconds before the throw-in – as everyone in the stadium and watching on TV saw – five jets from the Irish Air Corps zoomed overhead.

It was quite a spectacle

Straight over the pitch and out into the blue sky

As with many big occasions – from Coldplay gigs to Electric Picnic – the Garda Air Support Unit is on hand to view proceedings from above, while also capturing the scene below with their camera.

Yesterday was no different, and they managed to take a photo right when the jets flew over the stadium – showing the blue/green and red divide in the crowd as well

They shared the spectacular shot on their Twitter account this morning – with a note of congratulations for Dublin and commiserations for Mayo

Brilliant.
