THE GARDA RUGBY team are sending a Sevens side to compete in the World Police and Fire Games in Belfast next week.
The annual competition for the finest sporting specimens and civil service heroes begins this Thursday and runs until 10 August. Sevens rugby will be one of the feature events and the gardaí have their sights set on glory.
As extra motivation — and a possible scare tactic — they commissioned jersey makers Kukri, who also supply Ulster, to incorporate a raging bull and aspects of their uniform. The result is pretty impressive:
