PADDY BARRETT’S GOAL five minutes before the half was enough to see Galway take all three points against Waterford United at Eamonn Deacy Park tonight.
Despite only one goal separating the sides on the night, Galway were the better team throughout, with midfielder Ryan Connolly having a particularly influential game for the home side.
At Tolka Park, it was a lacklustre evening for the fans, as Shelbourne vs Longford ended 0-0. Shelbourne came close to breaking the deadlock ten minutes from time but Alan O’Sullivan headed a Gary Dempsey cross just wide.
And at Finn Park, Shamrock Rovers B left with a 1-0 win after a first half penalty from Chris Lyons. The visitors had Conor Dunne sent off after an hour but they held on for the road win.
