GALWAY UNITED sealed promotion and the First Division title with five games to spare after a 4-0 win away to Kerry this evening.
Wassim Aouachria opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark, and David Hurley then scored from the penalty spot with 17 minutes remaining.
Late goals from Francely Lomboto and another from Hurley ensured a memorable win.
The result means the Galway will compete in the top flight next season for the first time since 2017.
Elsewhere, second-place Waterford earned a 3-0 win away to Longford.
Ryan Burke opened the scoring on 19 minutes, while goals from Ronan Coughlan and Christie Pattisson made sure of the victory late in the second half.
