WHILE GALWAY WILL reflect on their wayward first-half shooting it looked for long stages of their All-Ireland Senior Football Championship quarter-final with Kerry that the Kingdom had at least two extra gears to go through.
James O’Donoghue’s contribution of 1-5 included some classy points but the exclamation point on the Killarney Legion clubman’s performance was undoubtedly his first half goal.
Captain Fionn Fitzgerald may have failed to get on the scoresheet but his distribution was excellent throughout as was that of Michael Geaney (0-1) though Paul Geaney’s contribution of 0-4 may have helped him stand out that bit more.
For Galway, Shane Walsh (0-5) was a pleasure to watch and it will be shame we don’t get to see the Kilkerrin-Clonberne forward again in this year’s championship.
