GALWAY MANAGER ANTHONY Cunningham has named captain Joe Canning on the bench for tomorrow’s Allianz Hurling League Division 1 semi-final with Kilkenny (2pm).
Canning recovered from a hamstring injury and came on as a substitute in quarter-final win over Limerick but has been left out of the starting XV for the trip to the Gaelic Grounds.
His Portumna club-mate Andy Smith has been included at left half-forward replacing injured corner-back Fergal Moore.
David Burke reverts to midfield in the reshuffle with Johnny Coen taking over from Moore in the full-back line while Iarla Tannian and Niall Healy have both overcome hamstring injuries to line up against the Cats.
