Galway, Clare, Cork and Limerick are the four outfits still holding aspirations of Liam MacCarthy Cup glory but this weekend offers semi-final tests that they must negotiate to keep those dreams alive.
First up this evening at Croke Park at 5pm, it’s the meeting of reigning champions Galway against 2013 kingpins Clare. Then tomorrow at 3.30pm, the showdown will see Cork, All-Ireland winners most recently in 2005, take on a Limerick side hoping this season will end their county’s drought since 1973.
Victory for Galway will propel them to a fourth All-Ireland final in seven seasons while Clare and Cork last contested the decider when they faced off in 2013. For Limerick it’s 11 years since they graced the All-Ireland final stage.
