Galway 4-14 Kilkenny 3-13 I’m not quite sure I fully understand what happened at Pearse Stadium yesterday. In a game with more ups and downs than a Tayto Park rollercoaster, Galway fell behind by 2-3 to no score inside the opening four minutes before outscoring Kilkenny by 4-11 to 0-5 over a forty-minute spell. Despite a late rally by the Cats, John McIntyre’s men held on for a four-point win.
Wexford 2-15 Dublin 3-21 All of the questions before this one asked whether Dublin could continue their impressive form in the absence of Conal Keaney. They could as Keaney’s replacement, David “Dotsy” O’Callaghan bagged a hat-trick to give Dublin a nine-point win, moving them to the top of Division 1 in the process.
Tipperary 1-20 Offaly 0-10 Offaly remain winless after four games in Division 1 as Tipp’s Pa Bourke laid the foundations for a comfortable win with an individual tally of seven points.
Waterford 0-18 Cork 0-17 There was nothing to choose between the sides in Dungarvan yesterday, with Kevin Moran’s late score giving the Decies victory by the narrowest of margins over their Munster rivals.
