WEXFORD WITHSTOOD A resurgent Offaly to open their Division 3 campaign with a 1-14 to 0-12 win.
Tiarnan Rossiter’s goal set Wexford on a comfortable course but five unanswered points from the visitors ensured that it was all that separated the sides at the break, Wexford leading 1-6 to 0-6.

Aidan O’Brien’s side pushed the gap out to five with a pair of early scores after the restart but Offaly weren’t so easily deterred and were back to within a goal inside the last 10 minutes.
In Kingspan Breffni Park, it was Fergal Flanagan’s late goal that put the brakes on Fermanagh’s comeback and helped Cavan to a 1-12 to 0-11 win.
A string of points saw Fermanagh reduce their deficit from five to two before Flanagan did just enough to help the hosts over the finish line.
Limerick were made to rue their wasted chances in Markievicz Park as Sligo ground out a two-point win, 0-15 to 0-13.
And in Pearse Park it was Roscommon who made best use of a strong wind, outscoring Longford by nine points to three in the second half to win 0-13 to 0-10.
