The GAA version of 'Top Trumps' is coming soon to a shop near you

We can’t wait.

WANT TO SWAP James O’Donoghue for Cillian O’Connor? Or Bubbles O’Dwyer for TJ Reid? Now you can.

The GAA and Gaelic Players Association are set to launch a new trading card game, Cúl Heroes, next month.

Think “Top Trumps” but with Gaelic football players and hurlers rather than mythical beasts or flashy cars.

The collection will include 468 cards as well as a book to allow you to keep your favourites in pristine condition.

Judging by the design above, players will be scored on both their defensive and offensive attributes as well as an overall Cúl Rating.

The Cúl Heroes concept was originally trialled in Offaly in 2013 with 66 cards featuring the Faithful senior footballers and hurlers. The cards were distributed to schools and at games in O’Connor Park, as well as through shops.

The national collection will be launched on 12 May so don’t rush out to the shops just yet.
