Ireland’s Rob Heffernan finished in 6th place in the men’s 50km walk in Rio, having been initially bumped up a spot following a disqualification that was later annulled on appeal.

Pat Hickey has been denied bail in Rio and transferred to Bangu Prison amid allegations of the illegal resale of Olympic tickets.
