French star Yann M'Vila could be banned for the season

The youngster’s team-mate Chris Mavinga, a former Liverpool youth player, faces the same punishment for missing a curfew.

STADE RENNAIS COACH Frederic Antonetti says French pair Yann M’Vila and Chris Mavinga could face a season-long suspension.

The Rennes pair were sent home after breaking a curfew while away on international duty with the France under-21 side.

Antonetti said he could no longer trust the duo after a lack of respect and commitment to the club, which could lead to suspensions until the end of the campaign.

Speaking about former France under-19 captain M’Vila, Antonetti said: “He will never have my confidence as a man again.”

The coach suggested the pair could be banned until ‘May 30′.

For now, M’Vila and Mavinga have been made to train with the youth team while Rennes decide what action to take against the pair.

M’Vila drew interest from several of Europe’s top clubs in the off-season and was reportedly on his way out of the Route de Lorient before a disappointing Euro 2012 campaign with France.
