Francesco Totti will play his final game for Roma this weekend

The club legend brings the curtain down on his 25-year spell with the Giallorossi against Genoa on Sunday.

FRANCESCO TOTTI IS set to end his 25-year career with AS Roma on Sunday.

The 40-year-old legend, who made his first team debut back in 1992, has confirmed that he will play his final game for the club in this weekend’s Serie A meeting with Genoa at the Olympic Stadium.

The Giallorossi, second in Serie A behind champions Juventus, need to win to make sure they clinch runner-up spot as Napoli are just a point behind.

Roma have not offered Totti a new contract and, in a statement released on Twitter today, he suggested that he may not retire — saying he wants a “new challenge”.

“Roma-Genoa, Sunday 28 May 2017, the last time I can wear Roma’s jersey,” it reads.

“I can’t tell you in a few words how much these colours meant, mean and will always mean to me.

“I just feel that my love for football never fades: It’s a passion, my passion. It’s so deep I can’t imagine not fuelling it any longer. Ever.

“From Monday, I’m ready to go again. I’m ready for a new challenge.”

Im not sure he will play, Roma need the win to finish second in the League. If they are a couple of goals up he might come on, Or maybe he will get the winner!

@James Lenihan: I reckon he will start on the bench and they will bring him on, will get more of a reaction from them crowd. Plus spalletti doesn’t really care for all the Totti nostalgia the man wants to win and of that means leaving him on the bench then he probably will

@SYM-Metal: I totally admire a player of his quality staying loyal all those years but part of him must regret not moving to a Madrid or Barca. He’d have some haul of medals.

Longetivity is top class but what has he offered in recent years?Seriously,i cant recall him doing anything in donkeys years.Another case of hype over substance.A serious club or manager would have moved him on a long time ago.Could you imagine Fergie tolerating this circus?
