Carl Frampton's rematch with Leo Santa Cruz to be shown live on Sky Sports

The WBA world featherweight title will be up for grabs.

CARL FRAMPTON WILL face off against Leo Santa Cruz again on January 28 in a rematch of their WBA world featherweight title bout.

While the fight was announced in October this year, Sky Sports revealed today it would broadcast the encounter which is taking place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The first match-up in New York in July was a Fight of the Year candidate with the Belfast boxer claiming a decision victory over his Mexican opponent to claim the WBA title.

After the bout, Frampton expressed a desire to have any rematch in his home city but, earlier this year, a US bout was confirmed.

Adam Smith, head of Sky Sports Boxing, said: “We’re continuing a wonderful start to the year with Carl Frampton’s hotly-anticipated rematch against Leo Santa Cruz.

“They produced a classic fight in the summer and we are expecting even more fireworks in Las Vegas next month. ”
