LIAM KEARNS HAS failed to be nominated by any Galway club for the vacant managerial post with the county’s senior football team, leaving Gerry Fahy to be installed as the favourite.
Kearns, a former Laois and Limerick manager, could still be nominated by the county board but has also been linked with a return to the vacant manager’s job in the Treaty City.
John Divilly and Frank Doherty have both withdrawn their names from consideration, leaving Pat Fallon, Peter Warren, Tomás Ó Flatharta and Matt Duggan along with Fahy.
Duggan of Annaghdown and Fallon, who helped Barna reach the semi-finals of the Galway Senior Championship, will have local support.
