YESTERDAY, SEVERAL FIFA officials were arrested on charges of ‘racketeering, conspiracy and corruption’, specifically for receiving bribes totalling $100 million.

Football fans are angry, and social media is ablaze with calls for FIFA president Sepp Blatter to resign.

But their calls aren’t being heard by the right people – because, like John Lewis and Breda O’Brien before her, the woman who owns the @fifa Twitter handle has fallen victim to the angry mob instead.

It appears that @fifa gets a lot of tweets that were meant for FIFA anyway, but yesterday’s events have ramped up the volume.
