40,000 Atletico fans don't care how terrible Torres has been since 2011, they love him anyway

Some turnout for an unveiling mind.

EITHER 40,000 ATLETICO Madrid fans have developed collective amnesia surrounding Fernando Torres’ performances over the last four years or they hope that giving him this kind of welcome will help reproduce the form he showed during his first stint with the club.

The Spaniard, who has scored just 21 goals in 120 appearances since leaving Liverpool, received a hero’s welcome in the Vicente Calderon when he was unveiled this morning.

Can such fervent support bring out the best in the striker again? Only time will tell.
