One training session in, and Atletico probably know it's not the same Fernando Torres

Torres had a mixed day back with his old club.

AFTER SEVEN YEARS away Fernando Torres rejoined his boyhood club, Atletico Madrid, on loan yesterday.

During his last season at Atletico, El Nino was an absolute god to the fans and believe it or not, he was actually Diego Simeone’s captain.

As you probably know by now, Torres’ career has nosedived in the last few years to the point that Chelsea and AC Milan were both happy to see the back of him.

Obviously Simeone thinks he might be able to reignite the talent that once burned bright inside the striker but his first training session perfectly summed up where he’s at now.

This isn’t an easy drill – the goal is tiny for one thing – but it was symbolic that the formerly prolific goalscorer could only convert 20% of his headers in this clip.

Torres’ footwork still looks sharp but just like in the last few seasons, he needs about five sitters before he puts one in the net.

What do you think, can Torres rediscover his old mojo under Simeone?
