SWANSEA CITY HAVE agreed a fee with Sevilla for the transfer of Spanish World Cup winner Fernando Llorente.
The 31-year-old striker is expected to complete his move to the Liberty Stadium today after a fee in the region of โฌ6 million was agreed between the clubs.
Llorente, who was part of the Spainโs World Cup and European Championship winning squads in 2010 and 2012, is due to undergo a medical later and could feature in the pre-season friendly against Stade Rennais on Saturday.
Itโs thought the former Juventus and Athletic Bilbao forward will put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the Welsh club as Francesco Guidolin bolsters his squad ahead of the new season.
The departure of Alberto Paloschi, Eder and Bafetimbi Gomis had left Swanseaโs attacking options threadbare but the capture of Llorente is a real coup.
As recently as last year, Llorente was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal and Tottenham and his goalscoring record in Europeโs top leagues speaks for itself.
He scored 21 goals in all competitions for Bilbao during the 2011/12 campaign and went onto find the net 16 times in his debut season with Juventus.
He won five major trophies during his three-year spell with Juve but after joining Sevilla last term, struggled to make an impact on his return to La Liga.
Swansea open their Premier League campaign at Burnley on 13 August.
