Updated 00.02: Rory McIlroy has won the Tour Championship — and the $10 million FedEx Cup bonus.
McIlroy made a 14-foot birdie putt on the fourth playoff hole to beat Ryan Moore in the season finale.
Updated 23.50: And we go again. McIlroy finds the green on the par three but it leaves him with a lengthy two-putt. Moore, on the other hand, just clears the water and comes up short in the rough.
McIlroy’s first putt still leaves him with work to do and, after Moore chips to within a foot or so, he shows some serious nerve to make par. Moore taps in and we go again. This time, on to the 16th.
Updated 23.35: Two pars at the second time of asking on 18 but that’s another chance missed by McIlroy. With Moore in a spot of trouble and forced to play out sideways, a brave second shot leaves McIlroy in pole position, but he misjudges his short chip shot and then whistles his 17-foot birdie putt by.

They’ll head to the par-three 15th now to see if they can settle it.
Updated 23.17: DRAMA! Rory McIlroy hit this unbelievable shot to leave him with a six-foot eagle putt to win it all:
But after Chappell finishes with a par five, Moore makes birdie to put the pressure back on Rory — and his eagle putt lips out.
So McIlroy has to settle for birdie as well and he and Moore will play the 18th again to see if they can be separated.
Update 22.50: It’s a three-way playoff at the Tour Championship. Rory McIlroy finishes with a birdie on the last to get in at -12, and pars from Ryan Moore and Kevin Chappell see them also finish on -12.
There’s $1.53 million on the line for the winner of the playoff, and then there’s also the little matter of that $10 million FedEx Cup bonus.
If McIlroy wins the playoff, he also wins the FedEx Cup.
If Moore or Chappell win the playoff, Dustin Johnson wins the FedEx Cup.
Update 22.10: Eagle for McIlroy at the 16th – what a shot! He moves to -11 with two to play… but Chappell makes his own birdie at the 16th and still leads by two.
RORY MCILROY IS just two shots off the lead on the final day of the Tour Championship where the $10 million FedEx Cup bonus is on the line.
McIlroy shot back-to-back birdies on the 10th and the 11th to move to nine-under par, two off the lead held by Ryan Moore and Kevin Chappell, two Americans hoping to play their way into contention for the last US Ryder Cup place.
A win for McIlroy would not only bag him the $1.53m winner’s cheque on offer at East Lake but would also land the massive FedEx bonus — provided Dustin Johnson does not finish in outright second or better.
Johnson, who started Sunday’s final round in a share of the lead alongside Chappell, is currently one over for the day and seven-under for the tournament through 11 holes.
As it happened: Rory McIlroy's sensational $11.5m playoff
