Fan dies after 65ft-fall during Atlanta Braves game

The tragic accident occurred at Turners’ Field last night.

A MAN HAS died after falling from a grandstand at Atlanta’s Turner Field during Monday night’s MLB game between the Braves and Philadelphia Phillies.

Police have confirmed the death was accidental while witnesses estimate the man fell 20m (65ft) before landing in a car park outside the stadium.

“There was an accident earlier tonight at Turner Field with a spectator falling from the upper level,” the Braves said in a statement.

It is the second fatality at the venue in six years after a man plunged an estimated 50m in 2008.

The tragic incident marred Monday’s rain-delayed clash, with the Phillies upstaging the National League East division leaders 5-1.
