Cup wins for Derry, Pat's, Hoops and Youths on busy night

Bohs were stunned at home by the Canystripes.

DERRY CITY LEAVE Dublin with an impressive FAI Cup win over Bohs tonight.

The Candystripes took the lead when Harry Monaghan headed home after 39 minutes.

Nathan Boyle then added a second after the break to seal their spot in the next round.

Elsewhere, St Pat’s saw off Limerick 2-0 in their last-16 tie at Richmond Park.

Conan Byrne’s deflected shot put the hosts a goal up just before the interval and Christy Fagan nodded a second after 78 minutes.

Wexford Youths grabbed a late winner through Andy Mulligan as they edged past Sligo Rovers. Raffaele Cretaro had levelled the tie after Shane Dempsey’s 20th-minute strike.

Shamrock Rovers ran out 5-0 winners away to Athlone with five different Hoops players scoring in the second half.
